Welcome to the Shady Valley PTO!
Our organization collaborates with school staff, parents, local businesses, and the community to enrich Shady Lane and Valley View Elementary Schools and their students. Joining is simple. We require no forms or fees, just your support. So why should you join?

What do we do?
The PTO raises funds through one major fundraiser in the Fall – The Hero Run, as well as a number of smaller initiatives, such as Restaurant Nights, Box Tops, SCRIP Gift Cards, Coke Rewards, Amazon Smile, Label Daddy, & Shady Lane Greenhouse.
We also organize several community, family and school events throughout the year such as the Welcome Back Social, Halloween Trunk or Treat, Intergenerational Day (Valley View), Movie Night, the Talent Show, Grandparents & Seniors Day (Shady Lane) & the Multi-Cultural Fair.
How are PTO funds used?
Check out the graphic below for this year’s budget for how funds raised so far have and will be used this year. The pie chart on the bottom of the page shows where funds were spent in the 2021-2022 school year for an overall look at where our funds typically go. In addition to the spending below, surplus funds at the end of the year are used to support special initiatives. In past years, this has funded things such as the Shady Lane accessible playground project, the new sound system at Valley View and other school needs.
